Chapter Philanthropy and Service
Our Founders committed themselves to “service to the world and to those within and without our circle,” and for the past 20 years, ZTA has devoted our philanthropic efforts to fighting breast cancer through education, awareness, and research, and by promoting breast health. Over the past two years, Zeta Tau Alpha has raised $6 million dollars Nationwide and distributed 1.5 million pink ribbons to help support the fight against Breast Cancer. Most recently, ZTA has joined with the NFL as an Official Fan Outreach Partner in the NFL's "A Crucial Catch" campaign.
In October we host our annual ZTA 5k to raise awareness and money for the cause. Local companies donate food and other products for the event. The 5k also includes a silent auction with baskets that are donated. All proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Awareness and Education. This past year we were able to raise $35,000 from our 5k.
We also work closely with the Bright Pink organization focused on prevention and early detection of breast and ovarian cancer in young women. Last year our chapter hosted it's first Bright Pink educational workshop to help educate the entire Panhellenic community.
ZTA hosted our annual Think Pink Week in the Spring. We had a week full of activities for the community to participate in to support Breast Cancer Awareness. We collaborated with local restaurants to donate 10% of those profits for that day to be donated to Breast Cancer Awareness. Along with that our Chapter hosted its first ever "Grand Zlam" home run derby where our Chapter was able to raise $27,000 for breast cancer education and awareness
