Chapter History
Originally founded in 1898 by nine determined and independent women in Farmville, Virginia, Zeta has grown steadily ever since to include 238 chapters nationwide. The Eta Phi chapter, chartered at the Illinois State University in 1974, and is committed to excellence and was honored as the Chapter of the Year by Illinois State University in 2016 and 2017.
Priding itself on exemplary leadership, involvement and service, Zeta is represented in a variety of campus organizations including Parnters in Reading, Student Nurses Association, University Ambassadors, Presidential Scholars, Women in Business, and Encounter Ministry. It's members other involvements include ISU Cheerleading, UGA Swimming and Diving, ISU Competitive Dance Team, ISU Panhellenic Executive Council, Red Alert, and much, much more!
The sisters of Zeta Tau Alpha are an outstanding group of women who bring their diverse strengths together to form a bond treasured by all. Zeta allows women to explore what life has to offer while giving them support and friendship that will last a lifetime.
